Do You Ride On The Sidewalk?

Riding on the sidewalk. It’s merits are debatable, and there’s evidence that it’s dangerous,  but  sometimes you have to. Narrow, busy streets, or closed lanes can force you up onto a city sidewalk. It’s quite typical too, for  pedestrians, scooters and cars to block bike lanes. Yes, if we are forced onto the sidewalk we should ride with care, as this person suggests in writing to Dr. Gridlock today. My additional 2 cents? DC has a growing number of bike lanes. I’d like it if  cabs, police cars and other vehicles wouldn’t park in them! That would help keep cyclists safely on the street, where most of us want to be.
